Cabinet Electrical BOM — the box the HBOX lives inside
Source: Selección de componentes para gabinete2.xlsx (Helgen, 2026-06)
Date captured: 2026-06-19
Key point: the HBOX is not mounted bare on a machine — it sits inside an
industrial electrical cabinet (gabinete) with DIN-rail power and protection
components. This BOM is that cabinet. It is productized across voltages (12 /
24 / 48 / 110 / 230 V machines) and across multiple port terminals (ICAVE,
Hutchison, TIMSA, EIT, LCT) — i.e. this is heading to hundreds of cabinets, so
the fixes must be production-grade and repeatable. (Pricing/margins omitted here —
see the sheet.)

What this means for the fix (engineering read)
- The cabinet's power & protection are already industrial-grade. Surge suppression (Phoenix TVS/SPD), a breaker, isolated ignition sensing (SSR/opto), and a quality regulated supply (Mean Well / Siemens) are present at the cabinet level. The HBOX PCB does NOT need to re-implement input surge/breaker — it can assume a clean 24 Vdc feed and an isolated ignition signal. That simplifies the HBOX redesign (see hardware brief).
- So the weak link is confirmed to be inside the HBOX, exactly where the client pointed: PowerBoost 1000C + LiPo + Dupont — not the cabinet (the ASA enclosure is adequate). The HBOX-internal job is 24 V → 5 V (robust buck) + watchdog + the RTK stack, with the LiPo decision (drop/replace) still open.
- Verify the actual fuse value. The PT 6-FSI/C is a holder; the fitted blade fuse rating is what matters for the client's "under-rated fuse" concern — read the installed fuse and compare to the measured worst-case + inrush.
- The Mean Well runs hot inside a sealed box. At 60 W class it dissipates several watts continuously; that heat has nowhere to go in a sealed ABS IP67 cabinet → it raises the ambient the HBOX (and its 18650 + boost + modem) must survive. This is now a primary thermal driver, not just solar load.
Open question for Leo to confirm: does the HBOX receive the cabinet's 24 V (then step down internally), or the raw machine voltage? The BOM implies a clean 24 V feed + isolated ignition — confirm so the HBOX power redesign targets the right input.
